Look Like Her #5- Samantha Ruth Prabhu at an award function.

Hi Friends,

I’m back with a look for the Look Like Her series and this time I’m about to recreate this simple elegant look worn by Samantha Ruth Prabhu at an Awards Function. I have already done a look worn by Actress Samantha where I have given an introduction to this beautiful charming actress! Do Check it out.

Well this is the Look I’m recreating, down to the black and white filter. That said, I did not have the patience to find a filter that’s most similar to this one! Well, I did my best. 😝

Since most part of my makeup is covered by the filter, it doesn’t really matter except the prominent cat eye look.

Anyway this is how I acheived this look. Read on-

For my Face:

  • Maybelline baby skin primer as always on completely clean skin.
  • Followed by the Maybelline Fit me Foundation in the shade 350
  • I used the Essence cosmetics match 2 cover cream concealer under my eyes and blended it to cover my lower water line too. This would give me  more open eyes kinda look.
  • I set the whole thing up and nice with my Barath and Dorris loose powder.

For my eyes-

  • I first primed my eyes with the Barath and Dorris cream concealer.
  • Then I carefully created the cat eye look with my Wet n Wild proline eye liner.
  • When I was satisfied with that, I put on the mascara- Maybelline Great lash mascara. I applied this to both upper and lower lashes.
  • I did my brows with the wet n Wild Ultimate brow kit using the e.l.f brow stencil! Loving it so much! ❤ī¸ 💋

For my lips I put on the Maybelline baby lips lip balm in the flavour cinnamon! It’s a very nice nude pink shade. I just guessed that’s what she was wearing! 😋

Then I put on some jhumka earrings, a black bindhi and let down my hair and that’s it! Done with the look. 😍😃

God she is so flawless! But it’s OK. I’m flawed like most of you angels out there! Flawed and beautiful!

What do you think of this look? How could I have improved it? Comment below!

Look Like Her #4- Anushka Shetty as Devasena.

Hi Guys,

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I have roughly (very roughly) recreated the look worn by Anushka Shetty in the movie Bahubali 2. She plays this character called Devasena who is a Princess of a small kingdom. That said, she has dressed and accessorised like a royalty. And I did not get time to fetch the gold and diamond jewellery from my vault! 😅😅😅 So I had to make do with what I had.

So let’s jump into the look, shall we?

This is the Look that I am about to recreate. It’s very simple yet very elegant and Royal! The whole look actually lies in the iconic bindhi that she wears on her forehead! That was the toughest to recreate for me!

This is the Look she wears during the introduction scene of Devasena!

For the flawless looking skin-

  • I applied the Maybelline baby skin primer on my cleansed face.
  • I followed this with the Essence cosmetics match 2 cover cream concealer under my eyes, on my nose, forehead and corners of my lips.
  • After blending that out neatly, I applied my Maybelline Fit me foundation all over my face and neck.
  • Then, I took the B&D powder compact on my triangular sponge and applied it under my eyes and asking my jaw line. I let it bake for a while before I brushed and blended it into my skin.
  • I chose to give a little warmth to my cheeks, so I applied a little bit of the Essence Matte blush on to my cheeks.

For the Dramatic Eyes-

  • Firstly I tight-lined my lower and upper waterline with the Nykaa eyem black kajal.
  • Then I lined by eyelids with the wet n wild proline eyeliner. Since it is a simple lining the eyes look, it dint take much time. I just made sure it was smooth and dark.
  • Finally I used a generous amount of Maybelline push-up drama mascara on my upper and lower lashes. Devasena has sported a very thick and beautiful eyelashes!
  • I went over my upper lashes with the Lakme curl mascara for the fake eyelashes effect!
  • For my eye brows I used my usual wet n wild ultimate brow kit! 😊

For the iconic bindhi worn by Devasena-

  • I drew out the design on my forehead using a red gel ink pen.
  • Then I mixed some red sindhoor with water into a semi-thick paste.
  • Finally I went over the design I drew with a stick dipped in the sindhoor mixture.

It was seriously the hardest thing I had to do! 😂 My hands were shivering all over the place.

Devasena was wearing a bright pink lipstick to match the saree she wears. For which I chose the Elle 18 pop Matte lipstick in the shade- Pink Kiss.

Finally I combed all the hair away from my face into a half up do (of course you don’t want the beautiful tresses on your face while you are sword fighting your enemy! 😂😂). I put on the most grand and golden looking jewellery I could find in my box!

And that’s the finished look!

Try how much ever I may, I cannot look as fierce and bold as Devasena does! But surely I can try- with my husband of course! đŸ¤Ŗ😂đŸ¤Ŗ😂

If you liked this look, let me know in the comments. If you are new to my blog, please follow me!

Devasena- The Fierce Warrior Princess!

Hey guys,

This post is like a lead up to my next post for the Look Like Her series. I am about to recreate the look worn by Anushka Shetty in the legendary movie Bahubali 2! I usually give a short introduction to the look that I recreate. However, This ‘look’ worn by this ‘actress’ in this ‘movie’ simply cannot be introduced in a short space! Thus, a whole separate post………

Well, I have been impressed by many historic movies and series, with all the kings, queens, their palace, their kingdom, enemies and wars and all of that glorious stuff. If had been thinking, Game of thrones and the movie 300 in Hollywood are very impressive, until I watched Bahubali (part 1&2)! Well it has collected a whopping 5 Billion Rupees on pre-release business itself, then one can understand how grand this movie is! Anyway, The movie has attracted people of all ages and each one will take something or the other from this movie throughout their life. For me, it’s the character called Devasena.

Yes, she is the lead, the heroine of the story. That could be a reason enough to be impressed by her, but that’s not all. It’s the kind of character she depicts. I have grown up listening to fairy tales of Cinderella and Snow white, my idea of a princess is someone who is beautifully dressed and dolled up. She is supposed to be soft, graceful and coy. She is supposed to walk like the breeze and talk like the rain and all that crap! Devasena downright brakes the base all of those tales and the illusions it has created.

Devasena is fierce, skillful and a great warrior. She rides on a horse, wielding a sword and fights her enemies. She is also a great archer! All of this doesn’t mean that she runs around wearing a shield and a helmet!

She is dressed like a princess, elegant and grand. She is very beautiful, feminine and every thing about her radiates Grace! She is simply not the damsel is distress type, waiting to be rescued by some prince on a white horse!

Devasena has literally torn my fantasy into shreds. I have only heard stories about these coy little princessess, dependant on their price charming for a happy ending! However, in reality, I don’t like to be dependant on anyone for even a meal in a day, leave alone a happy ending. And for that very reason, when I will tell stories to my daughter, it will be about princessess like Devasena and not Snow white! Devasena is the next generation’s fairytale princess.

If you guys haven’t seen Bahubali yet, then my most sincere request to you all, do not miss out on the movie of the century! I guarantee you will be very very impressed!

Look Like Her #3- Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the movie 24.

Hello friends,

I’m back with another look for my favourite series! By the way, what do you guys think of this series? Do let me know in the comments 👇👇👇.

So moving on, This is a look worn by the South Indian actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a Tamil movie ’24’!  To tell you all the truth, I never really watched the movie though The actor of the movie, Surya Sivakumar is my all time favourite. Never really have time to go to theatres and that too with my baby girl, No thank you!

Anyway jumping into the look. This look is so simple and at the same time very elegant and beautiful! According to me, Samantha has the most cutest and doll like perfect face among all the actresses in town. She looks perfect in any look that she wears! *Fan moment* 😅

In this look, she has kept her face makeup minimal and flawless. Paired together with smudged black eyes and tight lines eyebrows. She is sporting a nice pink lips to match her saree. All of that with puffed & twisted hairstyle- simply lovely!

How did I create this look?

img_5596

  • I started off by applying my Maybelline baby skin primer on perfectly cleansed face.
  • Followed this by Maybelline Fit me foundation 322- warm honey.
  • I then used my Maybelline V-face Duo Stick- Contour too colour correct where ever required!
  • I set the whole thing with Essence Camouflage 2-1 powder.
  • I used the highlighter of the V-face Duo Stick to highlight my cheek bones, brow bones, nose and cupid’s bow.

img_5597

  • For my eyes, I used the Black shade from my Maybelline ‘The Rock Nudes’ palette! I love this palette so much! 💖 I simply smudged this shade on upper and lower lids to get the smokey eyes that Samantha is wearing.
  • I lined my lower water line with Maybelline Colossal kajal
  • I then used my Maybelline Great lash mascara on my upper and lower lashes.
  • Finally, since Samantha has filled her brows black and bold, I used the mascara to comb down my brows. I then used the same black shade from The Rock palette to fill in my brows! Nice and dark and sharp! 😚

TADAAAAAA…..

facetune-9

This is very simple & classy look that can be worn everyday. Uses very less amount of products too!

Look Like Her #2- Lakshmi Menon in Rekka movie

Hello Friends

It’s been really really long since I did another post on the ‘Look Like Her’ series. Been a little caught up but I am back and with an amazing look too!

This time I have recreated a look worn by the actress Lakshmi Menon in a song in the movie Rekka. (Tamil movie!😍)

Quick info- She is a south Indian actress, currently raising to fame. I like her because she has a dusky skin too and sports it proudly! I really like this look and have recreated it as perfectly as possible by me!

facetune-2

The look actually emphasises completely on the eyes (just like the way I love it) and is completed with a mellow nude makeup.

So here’s how I created this look.

I had to start off with my eyes as it is heavy black makeup and I had to consider that there would be a lot of erasing and re-applying. I was completely right. Ear buds dipped in makeup remover was my saviour!

img_4467

  • I used Wet n Wild proline eyeliner to line out the wing on my eye lids. Surely it’s not exact, but I was quite happy with how it turned out.
  • I used the Nykaa black magic liquid liner to fill in the wings that I had created. (Surely not as easy as it sounds!)
  • I wasnt satisfied with the darkness and depth of the makeup. So I decided to press on the Nouba eyeshadow- Black over the whole wing.

It’s not very clean but its not that noticeable when the whole face is considered. 😂 Also I forgot all about mascara! đŸ¤Ŗ😂

img_4462

  • I then Primed my face with the Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser. It really does make a lot of difference.
  • I used my Maybelline Fit me matte+poreless foundation. Duh!

img_4471

  • I used the Contour part of the Maybelline V-face Duo Stick to colour correct around my lips and the corners of my nose.
  • For my lips, I used the baby lips lip balm to moisturise it. 👄
  • Since Lakshmi Menon is sporting a nude pink lips, I chose the Maybelline colour sensational creamy matte lipstick in the shade lively violet. 💋

img_4469-1

  • I set my face with the Essence cosmetics camouflage 2 in 1 compact.
  • I used the Essence cosmetics matte blush to give my cheeks a little warm dimension.
  • Finally I used the Makeup Revolution Ultra Strobe balm for highlighting my cheek bones, nose and tips of my lips.

Here’s the completed look!

And for a comparison-

Yeah! I’m satisfied!

What about you guys? What do you think of this look? Do mention in the comments below! 😊😊😊

Look Like Her #1- Deepika Padukone in random Pic

Hi Guys,

So kick starting my Look Like Her series with a look worn by my favourite actress- Deepika Padukone! For those of you who don’t know, I’m a die hard fan of her. I love her looks, her styles, her fashion sense, her work, Basically everything! She is this Family oriented south Indian girl (which I can so relate to) who has worked hard and become world famous (not so much relatable! 😂)!

Anyway so jumping into the look! Starting with my face! Fresh after a face wash!

img_2418-1

  1. I started by priming my face with the Maybelline Baby Skin pore eraser. 💖
  2. I use this cream foundation by Barath & Dorris (shade no. 01) as my concealer. This is Cuz I got a lighter shade by mistake! 😛
  3. My foundation is Maybelline Fit Me Foundation- Matte & Poreless in the shade 322-Warm Honey. I prefer to use concealer before foundation just Cuz I do not want it to become too bright. (Struggles of a dusky Skinned girl)
  4. The compact I used was Essence Camouflage 2in1 compact & makeup in the shade Honey Biege!

Moving on to eyes which is the major part of the look. Deepika Padukone carries this deeply Kohl-ed eyes and well filled eyebrows. It makes the eyes look so dramatic and you all know how much I love dramatic eyes!
img_2419-1

  1. Eyebrows by the Wet n Wild Ultimate Brow kit! I used the dark brown shade which I actually rarely use.
  2. Mascara I used was the Lakme Absolute Curling Mascara. I simply love this mascara. I coated my upper lashes once and then went over it again after I was done with applying Kohl.
  3. Finally the dramatic eyes was defined by the Nykaa eyem black kajal. I used a clean smudger to smudge the kajal and make it thicker and deeper!

The final touch was the coppery red lips. I couldn’t find a lipstick with the same exact shade in my bag. So I decided to mix 2 of the lipsticks I own. I am pretty much happy with how it turned out!

img_2420

  1. I used the Body Shop Born Lippe Lip Balm first.
  2. Then I applied a light layer of Lakme 9 to 5 weightless mousse lip and cheek tint in the shade Crimson Bell.
  3. I then went over this with my Nykaa So Matte Lipstick in the shade Praline Cookie.

That’s all! 😊😊😊 This is the finished look, Before I worked out my hair!

facetune-4
I then parted my hair nearly in the middle, twisted a small section of my hair on the either side of the partition and pinned it at the back. Tried to make it look like Deepika Padukone’s as much as possible! 😁

“Look like Her” series- Introduction…… 💖💝

Hi Friends!

This is an intro into my newest venture! I have been thinking and planning and researching for this series since a while now! It is something very close to my heart!

So, the whole deal about this series is, I try to re-create a makeup look that has caught my eyes! It maybe worn by celebrities or some random people whose pics I stumble upon and find them interesting.

The whole deal about this venture is, how you can re-create a look in the most simplest way possible. I will be using most budget friendly and commonly used products. Also I will try to use minimal number of products. Of course, I can not achieve it to the point of flawlessness that an actress or a celebrity possesses. But that’s the whole point- the majority of us are flawed and we need to be proud of it!

I hope you guys will support me through this just like you have been supporting me so long!

MUAH….. 😘😘

Love….. Kani…… 💞💕
